    Apache Junction Minor Rules

Apache Junction Little League will follow the 2007 Official Little League Rule Book with the following Addendums:

There will be at least two practices per week for the month of March. During the season, it is up to the manager if he/she wants to call a practice. The board strongly recommends a practice between games.

There will be a maximum of 13 players on a team.

It is the managers responsibility to appoint an official scorekeeper for the team. The scorekeeper will record of the number of pitches thrown. After each completed half inning the scorekeepers will meet behind home plate to inform the umpire of the pitch count. If there is a discrepancy in the number, the umpire will decide the number.

The team manager or coach must sign the Field Inspection/Game Information Form after the completion of each game. This form is used to log all of the pitches thrown. FAILURE TO RECORD THIS INFORMATION WILL RESULT IN THE TEAMS PITCHERS OF THAT GAME, TO BE RECORDED AS MAXIMUM AMOUNT ALLOWED PER GAME. Records are kept to insure the safety of all players.

Six (6) innings will be played. No extra innings can begin after 9:15.

A player may steal or lead off only after the ball passes the batter.

A board-approved coach must remain in the dugout at all times.

All bats must be Official Little League baseball bats (no softball bats in baseball).

No player will hold a bat in the dugout until it is his or her turn to bat.

Seven run rule: This means the team up at bat will take the field after THREE OUTS or scoring SEVEN RUNS.

At mid season the board is reserving the right to remove the seven run rule.

There will be no baiting or dancing (taunting/teasing) around after the pitcher has control of the ball in the 10-foot circle around the pitching rubber (mound). If runner is at the midway point between bases he must either go back or proceed to next base at own risk. The ball is dead when the pitcher has control of the ball in the 10-foot circle. If dancing continues the umpire will call time and the player will not advance. This action is considered a delay of game time.

Managers are responsible to insure that pitchers are warmed up on the outside of the field in a safe environment. Once a new pitcher enters the pitching mound area he /she will be given the lesser of 8 pitches or one minute to warm up.

If the pitcher has 2 batters Hit By Pitch (HBP) in the same inning, he must be removed from the position of pitcher immediately when the 2nd HBP occurs.

If the pitcher has 3 batters Hit By Pitch (HBP) in a game, he must be removed from the position of pitcher immediately when the 3rd HBP occurs
